AI Is the Equaliser. Structure Is the Moat.

AI Is the Equaliser. Structure Is the Moat.

On 26 June, SME owners, founders, investors and academics filled one room in Hanoi for Digital Superpower for SMEs — a full day of masterclass and investor networking, co-hosted by BizPal and FBU, sponsored by GMx & ODI International.

Attendees left with the SME Superpower Framework — using AI not for productivity theatre, but to see what a capital-ready organisation looks like: structured data, a clear story, a business an investor can actually read. "AI is the equaliser; structure is the moat" was the throughline of the day. Capital used to follow relationships — now it follows data, and AI made that data accessible to every SME. Beyond the room, it pointed at something bigger: one ASEAN market of 680 million, where what works in one country can scale across the region.

From the Head of Partnership

Partnerships aren't a transaction. They compound.

Lian Chin Yoke Head of Partnership, BizPal

This quarter, our partnerships work took me from a packed room in Hanoi to conversations with capital advisors, trainers, and ecosystem builders across Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore. What ties it together is a simple belief: no single organisation can build the whole ecosystem an SME needs, so we don't try to. We look for partners who are strongest exactly where BizPal isn't — a governance specialist, a crowdfunding platform, a university with reach we don't have — and build something none of us could offer alone. My job isn't closing deals; it's designing a network sturdy enough that founders can lean on it. That's the moat worth building. — Chin Yoke
