True Value Isn't What You Earn Today

This month: what makes a business investible — plus three events and an intern's take on working with AI.

This Month's Headline

True Value Isn't What You Earn Today

Invited by Tay Chambers, we sat down with a team of corporate-equity and business-law lawyers to explore one question with entrepreneurs: how do you make a company worth more?

On 30 July, we brought the data-fundraising lens while Tay Chambers brought equity and law. Revenue can grow for years without the business growing more valuable. Investors, banks, and future acquirers look past profit to complete data, a scalable model, clean equity structure, sound legals, and exit readiness. Real competitiveness isn't just running a good business; it's building an asset capital wants to own.

In Their Words

AI helped me work faster, but the people around me helped me grow.

YaoYee Tech Intern, BizPal

Interning at BizPal taught me how to wisely use AI in my work. AI is a big part of how BizPal gets things done faster. We'd use it to get an MVP up quickly, then spend time refining. I also helped with events, and built real things along the way, like websites and tools people actually used. What surprised me most was the culture. It's nothing like university projects. I had to speak up, ask questions, set up meetings, and manage my own progress. Honestly, the team made all the difference. Everyone was patient and happy to help whenever I got stuck.
